ABI Begins New Decade with Newly Selected Executive Director, Amy Quackenboss

Washington, DC(January 6, 2020) – Sterling Martin Associates is pleased to announce the hire of Amy Quackenboss as new Executive Director for the American Bankruptcy Institute. Quackenboss was chosen for this position through SMA’s comprehensive national search process on behalf of ABI.

For the past ten years, Quackenboss served as Deputy Executive Director and General Counsel for ABI. She also has twelve years of experience as a bankruptcy litigator. Upon her graduation from Miami University (Ohio) in 1993 with her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Quackenboss went on to Washington and Lee University Law School, where she received her Juris Doctor degree in 1996.

Quackenboss then served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Mary Stanley Feinberg, United States Magistrate Judge, Southern District of West Virginia. In 1998, Quackenboss joined Hunton and Williams, LLP (now Hunton Andrews Kurth) in Atlanta, where she served as an attorney in the Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditor’s Rights Group for eight years, during which time she was promoted to Counsel. In 2010 Quackenboss relocated to Washington, DC, left private practice and joined the ABI staff as Deputy Executive Director.

An active volunteer, Quackenboss has held Board leadership positions with several professional organizations, including the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL), the Young Lawyers division of the State Bar of Georgia, and the Atlanta Bar Association. Quackenboss has also committed her career to diversity and pro bono initiatives, taking leadership roles in her firm to address both. Early in her career the State Bar of Georgia awarded Quackenboss its highest pro bono award in recognition of her service.
